If you’re a fan of live music, dance, stand-up comedy, and the performative arts, then Community Concerts of the Tri Cities has you covered. The local entertainment group has been hosting live performances in our area since 1944 with the aim of engaging and enriching the community. The focus of entertainment includes jazz, classical music, comedy, ballet, dance, tribute shows, and more. With a diverse array of acts taking the stage this year and into the beginning of 2024, there is no better time to get in on the action and enjoy professional entertainment right here in our hometown.

Schedule

All performances of the 2023-2024 season are set to take place at the Richland High School Auditorium located at 930 Long Avenue in Richland, Washington. Parking is available on site and throughout the surrounding neighborhoods, granting ease of access to each event. With five unique performances set in stone, there is sure to be something for everyone to enjoy as we turn the page to 2024.

Locorno

The first concert of the season will take place on Sunday, October 8th, when Locorno takes the stage to dazzle the audience with their blend of Mexican and Canadian musical influences. Featuring a wide range of instrumentation between eight-stringed guitar (jarana), violin, marimbas, trumpet, and trombone, this group’s eclectic sound will leave an impression long after the curtains close.

BYU Ballroom Dance Company

On Wednesday, October 25th, the Utah-based Ballroom Dance Company of Brigham Young University will take the stage. This group of 32 BYU student dancers are considered one of the most distinctive university dance companies in the world. They’ve performed in front of millions of spectators across more than 35 countries since 1970 and will be gracing the stage of Richland High School this fall.

Perk Up, Pianist

Performing a unique blend of award-winning concert piano and stand-up comedy, Sarah Hagen has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry. Her act combines comedic anecdotes of her struggles as a classical musician with breathtaking piano interludes. This special performance is not one to be missed on Monday, February 5th, 2024.

The Black Market Trust

The Black Market Trust, or BMT, is a five-piece American pop/vocal jazz group from Los Angeles, California. Merging the sounds of the 1950’s and 60’s crooners with energetic acoustic instrumentation, the group’s goal is to bring classic songs into your living room. The members are world-class musicians who compete to win over the hearts of the audience and are renowned for their experience performing on some of the world’s largest stages. Be sure to catch them when they swing through the Tri-Cities on Tuesday, March 5th, 2024.

Rodney Marsalis Philadelphia Big Brass

On Thursday, April 11th, 2024, America’s premiere large brass ensemble will be coming to Richland. Rodney Marsalis’s group gives the gift of music to audiences throughout the world, reflecting the diverse makeup of male and female musicians in American culture.

Membership

While tickets are available at the door for any of the shows mentioned (so long as there is space in the auditorium available), memberships provide a discounted price of admission and guaranteed seats.
