Beautiful sunset over big golden sunflower field in the countryside

The Middleton farms that lie northeast of Pasco at 1050 Pasco-Kahlotus Road continue to impress! Each year they add more events that allow Tri-City suburbanites to enjoy all a farm can offer! This year the Middleton’s can boast being voted the Tri-City Herald’s “2022 Winner of Tri-Cities Best Event” and this well-earned title means their calendar is packed with enjoyable activities for the entire family.

September 16th will open with the Sunflower Festival and the new Daddy/Daughter and the Mother/Son Dance on September 23rd! Many churches have provided this opportunity for parents to spend quality time with their children over the past few years. COVID put a stop to a few of these events, and tickets were frequently sold out quickly. Tickets for the dance start at $24.99 and can be purchased at middletonfarms.com.

The celebration of beautiful sunflowers showcases a five-acre sunflower field. This year, their website notes that they’ve added Zinnia Wildflowers to the acreage. While at the Sunflower Festival you can purchase individual stems for $2.00/bloom or $10.00/6 blooms. Zinnias will be $.50 each or $5.00 for a dozen. Taking a bit of the beauty home for your empty vase allows you to enjoy the experience a little bit longer!

If you’re wanting to capture your visit to the Sunflower Festival, photo sessions can be arranged with your subject surrounded by Zinnias and Sunflowers. The website allows for specific appointments, so book your time today!

Like the Fall Festival to follow in October, there are activities for the kids. There’s a pumpkin patch, a corn maze, and more activities so that you can make a day of the excursion. The pumpkin patch can be accessed during the Sunflower Festival and will stretch into the Fall Festival at the farm. The Middleton’s farm eight acres of U-Pick pumpkins of all varieties. They have Gourds, Mini-Pumpkins, Giant Pumpkins, Blue Jarrahdales, Knuckleheads, Cinderellas, Jack O’ Lanterns, and more. All are conveniently priced t $.49 a pound, regardless of your choice of pumpkin. The farm provides wheelbarrows for you to haul your Halloween fun to your car.

The dates to enjoy The Sunflower Festival are September 16-18, 23-25, and September 30-October 2. Fireworks will be shot on September 24th and October 1st to add to the finales of those two evenings. Middleton’s Sunflower Festival will be open on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday’s general admission fee is $15.95 and Saturday and Sunday general admission fees are $18.95.
