Last year I wrote about all the fun to be had for families at the Middleton Farm north of Pasco. They deserve another shout out this year for their countless innovations that continue to please. The family opened this festival to the public in 2013 to share the farm life experience with our community. This year the Middleton’s commenced with the new Sunflower Festival that was open mid-September through October 3rd (weekends). Families were able to roam the fields of Sunflowers and many images of family fun popped up on Facebook pages of friends throughout the Tri-Cities.

Schedule

All of October’s weekends will off the Fall Festival with Thursday hours 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Many of the favorites are back, including the corn maze. This year’s theme is Star Wars Mandalorian and covers eight acres! Additionally, it is wheelchair accessible! Another favorite each year is the pumpkin patch, eight acres of U-Pick pumpkins of many varieties.

Attractions

Middleton’s website describes the many activities that were central to the festivities last year: corn maze; kid’s maze, jumping pillows, pumpkin patch, grain train, petting zoo, potato blasters, trike races, pumpkin train, human foosball, rat rollers, 9 square in the air, hayrides, cornhole, steer roping, pumpkin tetherball, pumpkin bowling, barnyard ball zone, straw mountain, tractor tire mountain, straw maze, and tug-o-war. Kids can get their faces painted, practice steer roping, play tick-tac-toe with real pumpkins.

But the Middleton family keeps adding more and more fun each year! Among the 2021 fun ideas created are a zipline, a tunnel slide, giant slides, pumpkin cannons, bull ring toss, and gaga ball, a game where you partake in a mix of dodge ball and tag within an octagon playing field.

Food & Drink

Delectable delights will once again be featured at the farm. They will sport Middleton’s donuts in the best of fall flavors. At Wild Bill’s Grill you can find French fries, burgers, grilled asparagus, corn dogs, and a salmon burger. At Cinda’s Sweet Shop you’ll find all kinds of calorie rich edibles like funnel cakes, apple cider slushies, kettle corn, ice cream, cotton candy, and hot chocolate! Angie’s Pizza Factory will offer homemade personal pizzas and lemonades. At the Middleton’s Smokehouse, festival goers can order pulled pork sandwiches and roasted corn on the cob. And, for the adults in a celebratory mood, the Hard Cider House will offer four flavors of local hard cider, wine, beer, wine slushies, and bottled water.

For evening fun, you can reserve/rent one of 26 campfire sites with benches, picnic tables, and to top it off, you can purchase s’more packages. Reservations are recommended for the campfire sites.
