The March 2020 edition of the Tri-Cities Insider provides an update on the local Tri-Cities real estate market, including an inventory of active homes for sale, months of inventory, total homes sold and the average sales price.
With many questions of how our local real estate market is coping with current events, we video chatted with one of our Realtors, Cassandra Smith to get you the inside scoop.
Well it’s been awhile since we checked in on our local stats! Home sales are actually UP over last year. If we look at our snapshot from March of last year we can see an increase of 74 homes sold. Prices are trending slightly upward but I wasn’t too surprised to see us add a few days on market on average. With the temporary shut down of real estate services we weren’t able to show homes so if your Realtor didn’t have a plan in place to market your home virtually, it likely sat a few extra days without activity.
Overall, we have seen minimal changes so far compared to past years despite current events. This week alone 95 new listings hit the market and within days a quarter of those were already under contract. The market is moving and we still have ways to help achieve your real estate needs while staying home and staying safe.
