A true pleasure of living in the Tri-City area is the delicious fruit and hearty vegetables that are grown in our rich soil. During the summer months there are large scale farmers’ markets, such as the Friday Richland Farmer’s Market, but we are also fortunate to have some smaller stands that are open most days of the week and are often in closer-to-home locations.

One produce stand is the Sunny Hill Market located at 6701 W. Court St. in Pasco. They are a family-owned business and are open from July to September and their products come directly from farm to table. To check what fruits and vegetables that are available on any given day, call 509.987.7130. While the stand is closed on Sundays, they are open from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, so you can pick up that fresh sugar dot corn for dinner! Google reviews give this market a 4.7 for the quality of fruit and vegetables. If you’re looking for garden fresh corn, peaches, watermelon, etc., you will find an abundance. Additionally, local honey is sold at this location.

If your home is in the north end of Richland, a small stand in Ace’s parking lot offers fresh produce. Angel Brook Farm is at 1415 George Washington Way. They can be reached at 907.414.4649 if you have inquiries about what is available. This fruit stand is open every day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., so you can even pick up fresh goods for your Sunday afternoon picnic. Angel Brook is run by the Beus family of Pasco. You may meet their kids working the small market and you will always find them kind and helpful. Besides all of the season fruits and vegetables that are grown locally, they sell raw honey from their own hives. They have a cooler in which they keep eggs and grass-fed meats. Tomatoes, corn, and watermelon are the hot sellers. New this summer is an ice cream truck. Each day the flavors vary depending on the fresh makings from the Angel Brook Farm. So, stock up on fresh fruits and vegetables and leave with a cone of cooling ice cream!

The south end of Richland also offers a small produce stand that has been in operation for many years. You will find it at the base of Carmichael Hill on the corner of Lee and Welsian Way. You can contact the employees at 509.943.9443. They are open seven days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Like the Sunny Hill Market and Angel Brook Farm, the Lil Fruit Stand brings local produce from the farm, ready for you to pick up and take to your table. The staff is always willing to help you pick the perfect watermelon or cantaloupe, an art that only growers know! In addition to all produce Columbia Basin style, the Lil Fruit Stand sometimes sells Two Sisters Honey, Habanero Dill Pickles, Sauerkraut, and Sunflower Nuts!

While the Tri-Cities have some larger markets to visit, they are generally open only one day per week and frequently have crowds and parking may be in issue. For those who need to stop for the night’s dinner vegetables and fruits, try one of these small stands located by local vendors.
