Spring has arrived and with it wind storms, tree dander, and sprinkles of rain that mix like a smudge pot leaving gunk and goo all over your car! If you don’t have the bucket, wash mitt, car soap, and hose…or you just don’t want to put in the elbow grease, you’ll be looking for a carwash most every week! Fortunately, the Tri-Cities has many options when looking to get that car shiny and ready for the weekend ride.

Tim Bush

Tim Bush, Tri-City entrepreneur began opening car washes in the area, and also in Walla Walla in 2007. His businesses have provided much needed, quality operations in Richland, West Richland, Kennewick, and Pasco. The Bush car washes have provided cleaning for our law enforcement vehicles and the Bush family has held strong relationships with the communities they serve. Their product has provided superior service, with attention to detail and well-maintained equipment. Tim Bush car washes offer a monthly payment program that allows the customer unlimited exterior washes. Just last year, however, the car wash facilities started by the Bush family sold to Mister Car Wash.

Mister Car Wash

The following locations are part of the package sale to Mister Car Wash: The properties at Aaron Dr. in Richland, Burden Blvd. in Pasco, Kennedy Dr. in West Richland, W. Court in Pasco, and the properties on Columbia Dr. and W. Okanogan Pl. in Kennewick. The transfer has taken place and new signage is being established at the newly acquired Mister Car Washes across the Tri-Cities. Mister Car Wash promises to bring experience to the local car wash service. Based in Tucson, Arizona, Mister Car Wash is the largest car wash company in the U.S. Their website ensures that the Bush tradition of community connection and excellent patron service will continue under the new company.

Spanky’s

In 2016, successful entrepreneurs Craig and Suzanne Garrison of Yakima opened a new car wash at 2544 Queensgate Drive. The couple own two car washes in Yakima but assessed a need in the South Richland neighborhood and used local builders, Siefken & Sons to construct the new building. Their business lies adjacent to Sterling’s and near Fujiyama’s. Competition is strong in the Tri-Cities, but it should be noted that the original Spanky’s Car Wash & Detail Center in Yakima was voted “Yakima’s Best Car Wash” for more than eight years running. Spanky’s offers a monthly billing under $25.00 that entitles the customer to unlimited washes. What’s unique about the product Spanky’s offers is the washing process. There are no cloths or brushes that sometimes leave swirls on a car; their wash consists of only soap, soft (hot) water, and pressure. A quick, hand wipe-off ensures your car leaves sparkling clean!

Friends

In the past two years another car wash that is locally owned opened at 1225 Guyer in Richland, tucked behind the Golden Palace restaurant off George Washington Way. Like both the Mister Car Washes and Spanky’s, Friends offers an unlimited car wash package for a comparable price. This car wash has excellent reviews on-line and many customers who comment that Friends pays close attention to customer service.

If your pride and joy needs a bath after a day under dusty spring skies, head for one of the automated car wash businesses and get that car a shine!
